Virtual Direct Primary Care Scope of Services  

​

Virtual Direct Primary Care is a convenient and accessible healthcare option for patients with minor conditions such as sinus infections, earaches, sore throats, or UTIs. With 24/7/365 access to healthcare providers via a smart device, patients can receive episodic care similar to that provided in urgent care centers. This option is ideal for those who do not require a procedure and do not need continuity of care.

Conditions that may not be treated or addressed virtually:

​

• Serious or possibly life-, vision- or limb-threatening conditions that need to be seen in emergency rooms:

• Neurologic symptoms suggestive of stroke

• Chest pain

• Moderate to severe shortness of breath

• Trauma, especially involving the head, neck, trunk, and serious trauma involving the extremities, such as amputations or crush injuries

Non-life-threatening conditions that may not be managed via Virtual Direct Primary Care, but can usually be managed in a primary care provider’s office:

​

• Persistent nausea and/or vomiting 

• Moderate to severe shortness of breath 

• Moderate dehydration 

• Lacerations requiring repair 

• Wounds requiring debridement, cleansing, and dressing

Office procedures that cannot be delivered via Virtual Direct Primary Care:

• Immunizations
